JPEG GLITCHES WITH ANTONIO ROBERTS
In this image I have created a glitch by deconstructing the code, which generates it. I have simply used Text.Edit to open the image’s code. Afterwards I randomly erased some lines from the code and added some random words. This way the image became distorted and the original image became this image with glitches.
original
The glitch in this image was created in a similar way but I have used Audacity (free open source digital audio editor and recording computer software application) in order to distort the code. I had to import the image as a sound file and then added some effects onto it. Here is an image of how the original image looks after I added some effects.

BRAINSTORMING FOR FINAL PROJECT
ANTONIO ROBERTS WORKSHOP
It was such an amazing experience to learn some easy tricks that the New Media Artist and Curator, Antonio Roberts, uses in his own work sometimes.Antonio Roberts works with technology to explore "issues surrounding open source software, free culture and collaborative practices". I believe that the workshop he gave us was base on the exhibition he curated in 2011 in Birmingham, called GLI.TC/H.

Underneath are two examples of creating glitches in images, one is using Text.Edit and the other one is using the sound editor Audacity.

Glitches are usually known to be of negative connotation, yet it is ironic how something negative can create something so positive. The images I have recreated underneath look much more intriguing and energetic in comparison to the original one above.
